Mohand is a scenic spot located inside mixed Sal,Khair and shisham forests of shivalik forest Division. This area is located in the Bhabhar area of Shivalik range . Geologically Mohand is known for the location of Mohand anticline. Mohand is one of the famous pass as gateway to Dehradune.

The Mohand Pass is 722 m above MSL. Wildlife includes – Leopard, Leopard cat, Hyena, Jackal, Elephant, Ghural, Barking Deer, cheetal, Sambhar, Wild Boar, Monitor lizard, Indian roller, Grey francolin, Indian grey hornbill, Common, Sirkeer Malkoha, Blossom-headed parakeet, Savanna Nightjar,

The Mohand tunnel is located in the pass, altitudinal zonation of vegetation starting with pine at the top followed by sal, khair and shisham. Representative species of both hill and plain coexist here.
Evergreen Sal forests and rich wildlife.
Being transition zone of plains and hills (Ecotone), wildlife is diverse and rich. Particularly, birdlife of both the representative areas is found here.
